Our History

Shishya School was the first English medium school, in Selaqui, founded in 1986. It had humble beginnings with only Nursery and KG class. The building, which is the present pre-school, was a two bed-room house, renovated many times as the school grew… adding small rooms like pockets here and there wherever space was found. When Frieda and Ken McRae founded the school, they admitted their own children who were told that “mom” is now “ma’am” at school. However, the whole class referred to the teacher as “mom.” That was Shishya’s genesis, a true family beginning. “Family” is God’s creation and from the beginning, “family” and “community” have been the school’s priority and vision; to teach and model love as Christ taught: “love your neighbour as yourself.” Ever since, Shishya has remained one of the most reputed co-educational day-schools with a strength of about 1000 students.

School Affiliation

The school is affiliated to CISCE, New Delhi and follows ICSE syllabus till class 10th & ISC syllabus for classes 11th & 12th. Our team of 50 teachers are well trained to face the challenges of competitive learning necessary for students to undertake.

Learning is prioritised as an enjoyable experience. “Pressurising” students is not acceptable; the school aims not to give students more than is manageable.
