Investiture and Award Ceremony
Leadership is the ability to translate vision into action.
Shishya Public School held the Investiture and Award Ceremony on 3rd May 2025 for classes 10 to 12 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM to formally honour and confer positions upon the students with the inspiring theme ‘Be Merciful’. The event was conducted with great ethos and enthusiasm, reflecting the school’s commitment to academic excellence, discipline, and leadership.
The ceremony commenced with a soulful choir song, ‘Faithful God,’ setting a reverent tone for the morning. This was followed by a warm welcome address by Mrs. Frieda McRae, who greeted the gathering and highlighted the significance of the event.
To showcase literary talent, students performed Part 1 of ‘The Merchant of Venice,’ exploring themes of justice, mercy and loyalty. They managed to captivate the audience taking them through a spectrum of emotions from tension to empathy, breathing new life into the scenes. It was followed by a vibrant choreographed piece titled ‘Tell the Truth’, resonating the school’s theme – ‘Be Honest and Truthful’. These performances displayed students’ creative and artistic skills.
Academic achievers from Grades 6 to 11 were then rewarded for their outstanding performance, encouraging them to raise the bar high. The creative part resumed with Part 2 of ‘The Merchant of Venice,’ which was equally engaging and well-received. The audience was awaiting the judgement and were curious to know if it could change Antonio’s fate. As the enactment ended, the auditorium was filled with applause and appreciation. The hard work and dedication of students and teachers shone through each performance, making it both educative and entertaining.
Next, students presented a dance performance titled ‘Mercy is a Song,’ in line with the event’s theme and the message of the play. School achievers in various non-academic domains were then recognized for their exceptional contributions. Students who went beyond personal growth and helped their fellow students were also appreciated for their service.
The highlight of the day was the Investiture Ceremony, during which the newly elected student leaders took the oath with pride and responsibility. This was followed by the announcement of the ‘Best House of the Year’ award, which added a spirit of celebration.
The event continued with an inspiring address by the Chief Guest, Mr. Siddarth Sharma, who emphasized the importance of leadership and the necessity of avoiding distractions to attain one’s goal. The Principal concluded the event with a vote of thanks, appreciating everyone involved in making the ceremony a success. Finally, refreshments were served, marking the end of a memorable and well-organized event that celebrated both excellence and empathy. The success of this ceremony was a reflection of God’s grace in every performance, every word spoken making it truly memorable.
